About Pixel Camp

Pixel Camp is a training hub for learning and honing professional skills in film, television, advertising, and related creative industries. You will be trained by top experts in the field, with extensive experience on international projects and knowledge of industry standards, working with major companies such as Universal Pictures, DreamWorks, Disney+, Apple TV, Netflix, and others.

We’re a group of professionals who created this educational project on a volunteer basis with grant support. That’s what makes this training accessible to everyone. The platform was initiated and driven by producers Oleksii Tarasenko and Yulianna Pakhniі, who have many years of experience in film, VFX, and animation. Pixel Camp is an important step toward our shared dream: building a strong, modern film industry capable of creating meaningful and high-quality audiovisual content for both Ukraine and the world.

Our mission is to integrate the Ukrainian film industry into the global industry by increasing the number of specialists in Ukraine and elevating their qualifications to meet international project standards. This will support the development of indie projects and increase the appeal of Ukrainian studios for foreign outsourcing clients.

The platform offers free courses on technical VFX specializations and production professions that enable you to work from anywhere. Later on, creative disciplines will also be introduced. Stay tuned for upcoming courses and workshop announcements on our social media pages.

0. 1. How are the lessons conducted?

Similar to platforms like Coursera, you’ll have access to an online portal where you can view selected courses and complete them at your own pace. Each topic will include video lessons with theory and demonstrations of techniques, reinforced by tests and practical exercises.

2. Who will check the assignments?

Since our project is volunteer-based and non-profit, all assignments are designed to allow for evaluation without direct lecturer involvement. Tests will be checked automatically, and practical assignments will include self-assessment criteria and reference files completed by professionals. Additionally, you will have access to a support group where volunteers can clarify any unclear points.

3. What if I can’t complete the course on time?

Each course is designed for immersive learning within a set period. By completing all tasks on time and earning a passing score, you will receive a certificate of successful completion. However, if you’re unable to finish within the deadline, you can continue at your own pace without receiving a certificate, but still gaining valuable knowledge.

4. What are the benefits of earning a certificate?

Pixel Camp is supported by leading Ukrainian producers of computer graphics and film, which builds trust in the training programs and the students who complete them. The platform also facilitates employment opportunities for those who successfully obtain a certificate and submit their portfolio to our database.

5. Is completing the courses enough to get a job?

While higher education can be helpful, it is by no means mandatory. Unfortunately, higher education options in this field are limited in Ukraine, which is why we created this project as an alternative. In real-world experience, having a diploma has never guaranteed success. The only thing that will determine employment success is your skills. Pixel Camp offers comprehensive theory and practical materials to fully prepare you for your first day on the job. It will take time to refine your skills and internalize important points, but we are confident that you won’t face job-search difficulties due to the lack of a degree.
